What is a firewall ?
Firewall is the term used to describe hardware and/or software designed to protect computers in a network from a threat spreading from one computer right across the network. Firewalls protect businesses from external threats and unauthorised access.
Firewalls may not protect a business from internal threats such as employees bringing in and uploading software, programs or files onto a computer or from remote users on a virtual private network which could bypass a firewall depending on it’s type and configuration.
